From 1 October 1964 onwards an independent unit was formed called as Commissionerate of Government Examination with the DPI as Commissioner. During 1960 and 1970 the independent Commissionerate alias Pareeksha Bhavan conducted about 53 Examinations, which included major and minor ones. But with the passage of time, the number of examinations as conducted by the Pareeksha Bhavan was declined with the result that at the present the Pareeksha Bhavan is conducting 28 examinations which includes the S.S.L.C.
